Karin attended the Protein Society symposium in Boston. In the morning she gave a 30 minute talk about the HdeA project, and in the afternoon she presented a poster about the project. Both were very well-received!

Today Lannah embarks on her summer internship at UCLA. We will miss her, but hope that she has a great experience at UCLA!
This afternoon, before the college commencement ceremony, the department held a reception to honor graduating students and awardees. Marlyn was recognized for earning her MS degree, and Lannah was celebrated for winning the Analytical Chemistry prize.
Marlyn very successfully defended her thesis today in a very impressive seminar presentation to the department. We celebrated in a party afterward with the biochemistry students and faculty as well as Marlyn’s family. Congratulations Marlyn!

Big news from former lab member McKinzie Garrison: she has been awarded a prestigious NSF Graduate Research fellowship, to be used in her current PhD program at Johns Hopkins! Congratulations, McKinzie – you deserve it!
