Karin travelled to Dublin,  Ireland to attend the ICMRBS conference.  She met up with old colleagues and presented a poster of our research that drew some interesting people into discussion.

Recently-graduated Marlyn has accepted a lab research position at Amgen.  She starts on August 20.  Congratulations, Marlyn!  We hope you enjoy the corporate life 🙂

Karin attended the Protein Society symposium in Boston. In the morning she gave a 30 minute talk about the HdeA project, and in the afternoon she presented a poster about the project.  Both were very well-received!

Welcome to Akemi, who is joining our lab as a new BUILD PODER student! Akemi is getting started early in research – she will complete one more year at Pasadena Community College before transferring in 2019.  Happy to have you join us, Akemi!

Today Lannah embarks on her summer internship at UCLA.  We will miss her, but hope that she has a great experience at UCLA!

This afternoon,  before the college commencement ceremony, the department held a reception to honor graduating students and awardees. Marlyn was recognized for earning her MS degree, and Lannah was celebrated for winning the Analytical Chemistry prize.
