Congratulations to Jonny for completing and submitting his thesis! Jonny successfully presented his research to the department in October, and today he is completely finished his degree. Well done Jonny! We hope you enjoy your new position at Amgen!
Welcome to undergrad Debra and grad student Nick, two new members of the Crowhurst Lab universe! I hope we can meet in person very soon.
We have published more work from our research group! With Marlyn Widjaja as first author and Jafaeth Gomez and Jonathon Benson as co-authors, we have published a paper about HdeA chaperone activation below pH 3.0 in BBA Proteins and Proteomics. The graphical abstract is shown above. Congratulations to us all!
We were asked to provide the cover art for our latest publication in Biophysical Chemistry, collaboration with Dr Abrol. This will go on the cover of the September issue of the journal. The caption to accompany the image reads “HdeA is a chaperone protein activated at low pH. Through NMR experiments and MD simulations Pacheco… Continue reading July 15, 2020
Welcome to our newest lab member, Sandy Cruz! Sandy is a transfer student that is also part of the BUILD-PODER program. Welcome, Sandy!
We have a new publication of work done in collaboration with Dr Abrol. Sayuri Pacheco, Marlyn Widjaja and Jafaeth Gomez, all former members of our group, are co-authors! Congratulations, all! You can find the paper in the journal Biophysical Chemistry.
Congratulations to our newest graduates! Imex, Narek and Selin are receiving BS Biochemistry degrees, and Dane is receiving his MS in Biochemistry! Sad that we cannot celebrate in person, but it does not diminish the accomplishment!
Today Dane successfully defended his Master’s thesis! It was an unusual presentation format, because he had to present to everyone via Zoom, but he did a great job! Congratulations, Dane! Too bad we couldn’t have an in-person party.
Akemi participated in the first-ever (and hopefully last) virtual version of CSUNposium! She submitted a poster for judging and won second place in her category (undergraduate, preliminary stage). Congratulations, Akemi!
